Revolution Road posts stock consumption, immutable audit entries, labor, cost snapshots, totals, and work-order closure in one transaction.
Apply the Phase 4 migration
Run 202608020006_phase_4_inventory_costs.sql after Phase 3. It adds parts, cost lines, work-order totals, audit history, alert logs, row-level policies, and protected transaction functions.
Create and receive a part
Open Inventory, choose Add part, and enter a SKU, optional barcode, storage location, opening quantity, reorder point, and unit cost. Opening stock becomes the first receipt event.
Post stock adjustments
Use Adjust for receipts, returns, or cycle-count corrections. Quantity can increase or decrease, but no adjustment may make stock negative. Every change requires a reason.
Two-stage work-order closeout
A regular Technician records field completion without entering parts or labor. The order remains Parts pending until a Lead Technician records each part, quantity, and unit cost. The original field-completion date and time remain unchanged.
Read inventory and cost reports
Reports show on-hand inventory value, reorder signals, recent movements, and labor-plus-material totals grouped by asset.
Optional alerts and scanning
Use progressive enhancement in the field.
Deploy inventory-alerts and its daily Cron SQL for email reminders. Camera scanning uses the browser Barcode Detection API when available; SKU and barcode fields always remain available as a manual fallback.
