Guide 02 · Operations

From equipment record to closed work.

The Phase 1 workflow is intentionally short: identify the asset, describe the work, move it forward, and leave a trustworthy audit trail.

01

Create the asset

Open Assets, choose Add asset, and enter a recognizable name, unique equipment tag, location, and status. Use the physical label when one exists.

02

Open a work order

Choose New work order, connect the asset, give the work a specific title, describe symptoms or scope, then set priority and due date. Every new order begins Open.

03

Start the work

Open the work-order detail and choose Start work. The status moves to In progress and the change appears immediately in the activity timeline.

04

Keep the record current

Edit the description, asset, priority, or due date as the situation becomes clearer. Every saved edit creates an audit event with a timestamp.

05

Close the order

Choose Close order after the work is complete. Revolution Road records the close time and prevents invalid backward status transitions.

Administrator controls

Deletion is deliberately restricted.

Only the administrator role can delete an asset or work order. Asset deletion leaves related work orders intact and unassigned. Work-order deletion retains the generic audit event so the action remains visible to operations.
